Plain words
Glossary
- xP (expected points)
- What our model thinks a player scores on average in a gameweek. Any single week will differ. How reliable is it?
- FDR (fixture difficulty rating)
- FPL's own rating of how hard a match is for a club, from 1 (easiest) to 5 (hardest). We always print the digit beside the colour.
- FT (free transfers)
- Transfers you can make in a gameweek without losing points. FPL doesn't show us your real number without a login, so we estimate it, and you can set the real one on the Transfers page.
- Hit
- The 4-point cost of each transfer beyond your free ones.
- GW (gameweek)
- One round of Premier League matches. The deadline is the moment before the first kick-off when your changes lock.
- WC (Wildcard)
- A chip that lets you rebuild your whole squad without hits. There are two sets: GW2 to 19 and GW20 to 38.
- FH (Free Hit)
- A chip that lets you make unlimited changes for one gameweek, after which your squad goes back to how it was.
- BB (Bench Boost)
- A chip that makes your bench players score points for one gameweek.
- TC (Triple Captain)
- A chip that makes your captain's points count three times instead of two for one gameweek.
- DC (defensive contributions)
- A scoring category for defensive actions such as tackles and clearances, worth points once a player passes a threshold.
- RMSE (typical error)
- A single number for how far projections miss on average, in points. Lower is better. Around 2 for one player in one gameweek.
- Provenance chip
- A figure in the briefing that you can trace to the computed result it came from.
